Discover Witchish

Why Witchish?
People ask me all the time: “Why Witchish?” The simple answer is—I was born on Halloween night. The real answer? Well, that takes a little story.
I’m not a witch (though I do believe there’s a little witch in all of us). By day, I’m a government first responder cross pilot on a national deployment team that responds to crisis missions... Not exactly witchy. But, on dark nights, skimming over the ocean, I’ve been known to strike up conversations with the moon—just in case she’s listening. I say thank you to spiders, squeal at every bat in the sky, and never turn down a tarot reading with my girlfriends. Witch? Not quite. Witch-ish? Absolutely.

Growing up, Halloween wasn’t about costumes for me and my brother—it was about the magic of creating an experience for others. We lived on a farm in the country with very little chance of trick-or-treaters. So, every October, we’d beg our grandmother to let us take over her front porch. She’d hand us the reins, and we’d transform it into the spookiest little stage in her quiet neighborhood. We’d spend hours making an old hag and ghosts, stretching cobwebs across everything, and carving pumpkins until our hands were sticky with seeds.
The best part? Testing it out on our younger brothers. They’d show up, bags open, wide-eyed and hesitant, and we’d pounce with: “Well? Was it scary enough?” Looking back, the photos seem silly now—but at the time, it was pure magic.

That feeling—of creating something simple, playful, and a little enchanting to share with others—is exactly why Witchish was born. As adults with busy lives and serious careers, my brother and I wanted to bring some of that childhood joy back into the world and into our own lives as well. Witchish is our way of bottling up those October nights, the scent of pumpkins and candle wax, the thrill of mischief and delight, and sharing it with you.
So no, I may not be a witch. But Witchish? That feels just right.
Why Candles?
My brother Zac has always been a hidden artist—ever since we were kids. By day he works as a lineman, but by night he transforms into something entirely different. His backyard becomes a secret botanical garden, he can whittle fish so lifelike you’d swear they might wriggle free, and he’s always sketching, always drawing. The only trouble is, his art rarely sees the light of day. He’ll stack his sketches in neat little piles, and then, when perfectionism creeps in, they disappear—tossed away before anyone else ever has the chance to marvel at them.
While Zac has always had his art, I’ve always had my obsession with interior design and fragrance. Fragrance is my addiction. When I was younger, I’d spend hours in Bath & Body Works and a little store called Luminescence, smelling every candle, chasing that cozy autumn feeling in a jar. Years later, after my husband and I experienced recurrent miscarriages, I shifted to living as clean and natural as I could. Out went anything with questionable ingredients, and that’s when I began making candles for myself. I sourced skin-safe, phthalate-free fragrances and paraffin-free, soy-free waxes, eventually teaching myself to blend my own unique scents—fragrances made not just to smell good, but to feel safe and soulful.
When Zac and I began dreaming up ideas for Witchish, candles felt like a natural choice. His art, my fragrances—woven together into something magical we could finally share. Witchish was born from that blend: his hands, my nose, and both of our hearts.
And yes—we have bigger plans bubbling on the cauldron. From his elaborate scarecrow heads to rare, elegant pieces of Halloween décor. But those are stories for another time…

From the bottom of our Witchish hearts, THANK YOU for your support.
